Program Faculty

Richard Curtis RN, MS, HACP

Richard (Rick) Curtis is the Chief Executive Officer for CIHQ. Mr. Curtis is nationally recognized as an expert on standards and the CMS Certification & Survey Process. As CEO, Mr. Curtis successfully guided CIHQ in becoming the nation's 4th CMS approved deeming authority for acute care hospitals.
Mr. Curtis has been a regular speaker at numerous state and national conferences on the CMS survey process.
Mr. Curtis is nationally certified in healthcare accreditation, and serves as Chair of the Board of Examiners for the Healthcare Accreditation Certification Program (HACP). Mr. Curtis has a degree in Nursing with a Master's Degree in Health Services Administration.

Terms & Conditions

  • Space is limited and registrations will be accommodated on a first come / first serve basis. Deadline for registration is 09/01/2018
  • The HACP preparatory course and examination fee is non-refundable. If you do not take the exam on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 you will need to reapply
  • Early registration is strongly advised
  • Registration confirmation, the HACP study guide, and the HACP Applicant Handbook will be sent via email prior to the course and exam dates

Continuing Education Credit

This program has been approved for 6.0 continuing education hours by the Center for Improvement in Healthcare Quality.
Participants should check with their respective professional body to determine eligibility to use CEU towards licensure requirements
HACP is listed by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as meeting criteria for inclusion in a hospitals Demographic Data Collection Tool™ for Magnet Status.
